charges and fixed fee advice

Mansouri & Son rely heavily on Information Technology, email and telephone calls to improve speed and efficiency and, help reduce the number of visits you may need to make to our offices. This speeds up our workload and helps to reduce costs, which we then pass on to our clients in the form of highly competitive fees and fixed fee advice and assistance. In order that you can benefit from this, it helps if you have all the information we require ready, when you first contact us.

We prefer to provide you with an accurate fixed fee calculation of exactly what your case will cost. Most law firms will provide you with their hourly rate only and, an estimate, which can be confusing. With Mansouri & Son, what you see is what you pay!

Mansouri & Son solicitors do not handle Legal Aid or Publicly Funded cases.

Mansouri & Son Solicitors offer a number of fee scale options for you to choose from. These are detailed below:

Option A - General advice and Questions

If you have a particular question regarding your circumstances, you can email us at info@solicitorsfirm.com, with no obligation, for a FREE 30 minute consultation with a solicitor and some basic guidance.

Option B - Fixed Fee Assessment

This is a no obligation, fixed fee, initial interview. This consultation comprises a 60 minute personal consultation and seeks to address your specific circumstances. The consultation has a fixed fee of £70 (£82.25 including VAT) and the fee is deductible from Options C & D, should you decide to instruct us in your matter.

To benefit from Option B, you must ensure that you have available the basic information we will need, to answer your queries. Before contacting us, please ensure that you have available the following information:

  • you, your spouse and your child(rens), if you have any, full names, dates of birth and addresses

  • the date and place of your marriage

  • brief details of your dispute or separation

At the conclusion of the Fixed Fee Assessment you will have the option to either proceed no further, or to instruct Mansouri & Son to conduct your matter under Options C, D or E below. Which option is best suited to your requirements is something the lawyer will discuss with you during the Fixed Fee Assessment. Should you decide to proceed with your divorce with this firm, we will happily deduct the Option B consultation fee from your future costs. It may be that you decide to book a longer and more detailed consultation with one of our lawyers, or perhaps all your questions may have been answered in the initial interview and you have no further need for assistance. The option remains yours at all times. Rest assured that unlike many other internet advertisers we will never pressurise you into instructing us.

Option C - Detailed Assessment

For a fixed fee of £200 (£235 including VAT) we will provide you with a detailed assessment of your case. We will still require the information mentioned in Option B above and, perhaps more information, subject to your specific circumstances. It is always best to have all relevant documentation available when seeking this advice. Option C entitles you to up to 2 hours initial assessment of the strengths of your case and the steps which ought to be taken. This assessment can be by telephone, face to face at our offices, or in some circumstances we can visit you. If you want us to visit you, whether it's at home or at work, we may have to charge a little more to cover travelling, depending on where you are. We are happy to discuss this with you and provide you with a full quotation of the costs involved.

Option D - Fixed Fee Divorce

Our fixed fees for an uncontested and straightforward divorce is £600 (£705 including VAT). This is in addition to the fees that are payable to the Court. The Court fees involved are an initial fee for filing the divorce petition, which is currently £300 and a further £30 at the conclusion of the case, to apply for a Decree Absolute of Divorce. You may also incur a charge of approximately £7, which is a swear fee.

Our Non-Contested Divorce fee is one of the most competitive rates available. We will advise you during the FREE consultation whether you qualify for this, because each persons personal circumstances are different. However you can rest assured that any fee payable under Option B will be deducted from Option D, should you decide to proceed with us as your solicitors.

If you live abroad and you want a divorce in England & Wales, our fee is normally £1,250 and there is no VAT to pay, unless you live in the 'eurozone'. Though the Court fees involved remain the same, that is £300 to issue the petition, £30 at the conclusion of the case and a small swear fee, depending on where you live.

Option E - The Hourly Rate

In certain circumstances it may be necessary for you to instruct us on the basis of an Hourly Rate. There can be many reasons for this; for example you know that your spouse intends to resist your divorce petition or  because there may be financial issues at stake or disagreement about what is best for your children. Our Hourly rate for divorce family work starts at an incredible £70 per hour, plus VAT. You will be invoiced on a monthly basis to ensure that you are not faced with a bill which may be difficult to manage at the end of your case. You will regularly be kept informed about the progress of your case and the estimated final costs.

The Separation Agreement

There may be situations where you and your partner, irrespective of whether you are married or not, may want to make a separation agreement. This helps to ensure that the financial arrangements or details relating to the children are embodied in a formal legal agreement. Mansouri & Son can assist you in the preparation of such a document for a fixed fee of £450 (£528.75 including VAT).

The Pre-nuptial Agreement

For situations where you are about to embark on a relationship and you want to ensure that everything is clarified from the start, we recommend a Pre-Nuptial Agreement. This can ensure that there are less disagreements in the event that the relationship should fail and you choose to part company from your partner. We can assist in the preparation of such a document on your behalf for a fixed fee of £495 (£581.63 including VAT)
